Friday, September 26, 2025

4-6 PM - Attend Marching Mizzou Rehearsal - Get the Band Back Together!

  • The Marching Mizzou Practice Field is located at 1540 Providence Pt, Columbia, MO 65201. 

  • Get a preview of the halftime show against UMass and meet other M2 alumni and Mizzou community members

  • Parking is free in the N lot, but please ensure you move your vehicle before 6:30 p.m. to avoid towing.

~5:30 PM - Gary Taylor Scholarship Presentation at Marching Mizzou Practice During Announcements

  • The endowed scholarship was created by friends and family of former alumni band director Gary Taylor so that future Marching Mizzou students would continue to benefit from Gary's helpful and caring nature. This scholarship  provides $1,000 in tuition assistance annually to a member of Marching Mizzou who engages in helpful and caring behavior towards other people.

5:30-8 PM - Friday Night Gathering at The Heidelberg

  • Join your fellow M2 alumni at The Heidelberg for drinks and food

Stop by Traditions Plaza as Marching Mizzou and the Golden Girls help us get excited for the Homecoming football game!

Saturday, September 27

11:30 AM - Parking Lot opens at the Veterans Hospital (800 Hospital Dr Columbia, MO 65201)

12:15 PM - Take the Golden Alumni Shuttle to the M2 Practice Field from Veterans Hospital

  • Please park at Veterans Hospital for a free van shuttle ride to the M2 Practice Field. This will be free parking for those registered for Marching Mizzou Alumni Band only. Glenn will have a list to check in members and their families. 

  • April Cox will pick up our members in our shuttle (white passenger van) and will have signs that let you know it’s the M2AB shuttle

  • We will do a few loops to ensure everyone arrives at rehearsal. M2AB board members will be on the first shuttle to help arrive to set up check-in.

  • Reminder: Please park early as it will be one of the busiest days of the year in Columbia.

  • We will be serving snacks and bottled water. Please eat lunch before you arrive.

  • Instrument check out: For those of you who are borrowing an instrument, you will be required to sign a contract with the MU School of Music. Please ensure you arrive on the earlier side to give yourself ample time to set up for rehearsal.

  • Following announcements, we will pack all belongings and cases into the instrument truck, which will be locked until after the pre-game performance.

3:30 PM - Game Day Meal at the Marching Mizzou Practice Field 

  • Early dinner/late lunch will be served to those who purchased meals during registration. Game day meals are no longer available for purchase at this time. 

  • Each boxed meal will include a sandwich, chips, side, cookie and a bottle of water.

  • Members who requested meals with dietary accommodations will receive meals that are packaged and labeled separately from these meals. The remaining meals will be set out like a buffet for the participants to grab each meal component and put in a bag.

  • Reminder: NO alcohol is allowed on the premises at the M2 practice field or Hearnes Center before the performance.

5 PM - Section Warm Ups at East Entrance of the Hearnes Center

  • Please meet Marching Mizzou alumni band members outside the Hearnes Center's east entrance to prepare to line up for the March to the Stadium. 

  • Marching Mizzou Alumni Band will march behind Marching Mizzou in the parade block. 

 

5:20 PM - March to the Stadium with Marching Mizzou 

  • Marching Mizzou Alumni Band members will enter the stadium with Marching Mizzou. Please make your way to the field to prepare for the pre-game performance.

6:10 PM - Pre-Game Performance with M2 

  • Directly following the performance, please follow the alumni band members toward the east side of the south end zone (towards the student section) to exit the tunnel to walk toward Lot G, where we will be parking our instrument truck. ​

6:30 PM - Kickoff Against UMass

​

6:45 PM - Instrument Check-In Post-Pregame in Lot G at the Instrument Truck

  • Please pick up your belongings and cases at this time as we will be moving the truck before the end of the first quarter to ensure Marching Mizzou is able to prepare properly for halftime.

  • All items after the game will be available at the M2 instrument shed.

Registration Options

The three options to participate in Marching Mizzou Alumni Band this year, include:

  • Marching On-Field: March the pre-game drill on the field​​

  • Stationary On-Field: Stationary position on the field during pre-game

  • Virtual Marcher: Enjoying Homecoming as a fan from the stands or from home

​

Discount Codes

- Recent M2 Alumni from 2023-2025 can receive a $5 discount using the code M2NEWALUM

- Members of the Mizzou Alumni Association also receive a $5 discount using the code MAAM2AB

- Recent M2 Alumni who are also members of MAA can receive a $10 discount using the code NEWM2MAA.

Uniform

The official Marching Mizzou Alumni Band uniform for the pre-game performance:

  • Marching Mizzou Alumni Band Gold Polo (Men's and Women's sizes XS-4XL)

  • Black shorts/pants/ Black jeans

  • Black socks and black shoes

 

We encourage Mizzou colors with all accessories! If you do not have a polo, you will need to purchase one with your registration. First-time participants get a polo for free. To guarantee your polo size, please register by Friday, September 5. All specific polo questions should be directed to Maddie at m2alumniband@gmail.com. â€‹

Instruments & Auxilary

The University of Missouri Band Department will supply the following items to those who will need them: 

  • Mellophones (please bring your own mouthpiece)

  • Baritones (please bring your own mouthpiece)

  • Sousaphones (please bring your own mouthpiece)

  • Snare Drum (please bring your own drumsticks)

  • Tenor Drum (Quads, etc.) (please bring your own drumsticks)

  • Bass Drum (please bring your own drumsticks)

  • Cymbals

  • Flags 

 

If you need any of these items, please indicate them in the appropriate spot on your registration form. Due to limited availability, all horns are on a first-come, first-served basis. Those using borrowed instruments will be responsible for returning their instrument to the proper place after the game. Those in need of other instruments not listed above can indicate on the registration form to help coordinate with the MU School of Music to borrow a school-owned instrument. All other items (reeds, valve oil, etc.) are your responsibility.

If you are borrowing an MU-owned instrument, you must sign a contract ensuring you will take proper care of the university-owned property during the day. Contracts will be available to sign at the M2 instrument shed the morning of rehearsal. If you have any questions, please email M2AlumniBand@gmail.com.

Friday Night Gathering

The M2AB Board of Directors will be organizing an informal family gathering on Friday night, September 26, from 5:30-8 p.m. CT. You may purchase your own beverages and food if you wish, and you’ll be able to pick up your name tag and polo and decals. Feel free to drop in to say hello and  stay for as long as you want before you head to campus for house decs and other activities on your own. 

Game Day Football Tickets

The M2AB Board of Directors secured a special group rate for tickets with Mizzou Athletics. Tickets cost $64/each + fees. Tickets are sold separately from the M2AB activity fee, but you must purchase an activity fee to qualify for the special group rate, ensuring that these tickets are allocated to our alumni band members. Once the link is live, you can find the link in your confirmation email after purchasing your M2AB registration. If you run into any issues processing your Mizzou Football ticket order, please contact Mizzou Athletics.
 
Our seats are located in 101. Each buyer can choose their exact seat, so if you want to sit next to somebody, you can tell them what seat numbers to pick. Marching Mizzou will be located in section 110 this year.

Please note: This activity fee does not include a ticket to the football game, but you are eligible to purchase with more information below. You also do NOT need to purchase a game ticket if you only want to march during pre-game as we will exit the stadium after our performance to reclaim items in the M2AB instrument truck. Following our performance, you may re-enter the game with your ticket or enjoy the rest of your day at your leisure. 

Parking & Golden Alumni Shuttle

M2AB members who register for Homecoming can park for FREE at the MU Veterans Hospital (800 Hospital Drive Columbia, MO 65201). The lot will open at 11:30 a.m. and close at 2 p.m. 

Additional, parking near the stadium, Hearnes Center, and M2 practice field is reserved for season ticket holders and donors to the Tiger Scholarship Fund. The closest parking garage is Parking Structure #7 on Hospital Drive across the street from University Hospital.  Parking fee there is $30. Mizzou Athletics is offering a ticket bundle for families/groups of 4+ to get game tickets and a parking pass in Parking Structure #7.

Marching Mizzou Alumni Band will offer a FREE shuttle for M2AB members and their families from MU Veterans Hospital parking lot directly to the practice field. The shuttle will run on a continuous loop beginning about 45 minutes before practice.

There is FREE parking in various garages around campus, but as Columbia's busiest day of the year, parking will fill up quickly. Please do not park on the street in a metered spot as meters are enforced all day on Saturday. There is also no return shuttle after the game. 

Check-In At the M2 Practice Field

The Marching Mizzou Practice Field is located at 1540 Providence Pt, Columbia, MO 65201.
 
Please check in near the instrument shed to pick up your name tag, meal card, refreshments, polo and more. If you reserved a large instrument (sousaphones, baritones, mellophones, drums) or color guard flag, you can pick it up at check-in. You will need to bring your own mouthpiece or drumsticks if using a University instrument. Anyone borrowing an instrument from the university will need to sign a contract to loan out the instrument for the day. 
 
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted at the M2 Practice Field.

Music & Marching Rehearsal

Our game day M2AB Rehearsal is about 1.5-2 hours long depending on the time of the game and will have a combined rehearsal with Marching Mizzou to run through pre-game together.

Everyone who registers will receive their music by email directly from Hadley.  If you don’t receive it soon after you register, please contact M2AB director, Hadley Haux, by e-mail at hhaux@sbcglobal.net or by phone at 314-956-7817.  We will not be providing paper copies of music.​

M2AB Instrument & Equipment Truck

Our equipment truck will be available as a place for you to store your instrument case and small personal items at the start of rehearsal so that they will be available near the stadium after our pregame performance. The truck will be secured throughout the game as well, giving your instrument a safe home until the end of the game. University-owned instruments will also be returned here after the pre-game performance.

Game Day Meal

We will be partnering with Marching Mizzou to provide a boxed meal from HyVee to take with you to eat at the M2 practice field or in the Hearnes Center. Each meal will cost $12.50. The meal will consist of a deli sandwich, chips, a side, a dessert, and water. If you have any dietary needs, please be sure to include them in the Homecoming registration form by Saturday, September 6. 
Orders will close on Saturday, September 6.

Annual Business Meeting

Our Marching Mizzou Annual business meeting will be held at the M2 practice field. We will meet to review the weekend, discuss plans, and introduce the new board members for 2026.
 

Payment Options

M2AB uses PayPal to process debit and credit card transactions. You do not need to use PayPal to pay, but you are required to enter in an email address into PayPal to process the transaction to send a receipt. If you have questions or concerns about these payment options, please contact Maddie at M2AlumniBand@gmail.com.

M2AB will be partnering with Sportsprint to create an online store to order and purchase M2AB merchandise for Homecoming 2025. Orders to purchase t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, hoodles, sweatshirts, hats and scarves on our Sportsprint site will close on September 5. We will update this page with the link once live.

M2AB is also selling Marching Mizzou Alumni Band decals for $5 each. Orders for decals closed on September 56

Accessibility

Marching Mizzou Alumni Band is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible event. If you need an accommodation, please indicate in the registration form. All requests must be made by Saturday, September 6. We will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability by working with Mizzou Athletics and the MU School of Music. Alumni Band

The Marching Mizzou Alumni Band (M2AB) is an affiliate of the Mizzou Alumni Association (MAA). The purpose of M2AB is to organize the interests, abilities, and efforts of Marching Mizzou alumni for fellowship among members and prospective members, and to provide services to its alumni constituency and to the University. M2AB is organized in order to encourage alumni to support the University’s School of Music and Marching Mizzou and to participate in building a greater University.
